Innovation Smart Cities is a broad term. It encompasses multiple technologies while impacting a diverse set of industry sectors. This has created a wave of several emerging mega-trends and yielded a multitude of use cases. Selecting the Right Talent The most important part of accelerating a startup is finding the right talent first. Since technologies are rapidly changing, each new scouting process gives us a view of the top talent and technologies to ensure we remain relevant. For our first cohort, the process began with a four month application and scouting phase where we travelled around the world to ensure we met the best Smart City innovators. This resulted in 21 startups who we invited to the final selection round. From this, we selected the top 10 startups who became the first cohort of Startupbootcamp SmartCity Program.
